August 13 2023

The 15th edition of Zine Dream (a small press festival that I co-organize)is this Saturday, August 16th at The Parkdale Hall in Toronto. I’ll be releasing a new collaborative zine with Jon Vaughn, alongside a risoprinted collection of some of my recent painting work titled “Worm Day.”

I used the terrific colour separations application Spectrolite to reproduce these works in the colours I have on hand, Sunflower Yellow, Red and Medium Blue. You can get a copy from me at Zine Dream this weekend or grab one from my online shop here.

July 12 2025:

Hello anyone who might be reading this! A few quick updates:
Since my exhibition at Toutoune earlier this year, I've been working on new photocopy transfer pieces on paper created by enlarging & collaging minuscule drawings from my sketchbook

I’ve been posting new pieces almost daily on my instagram feed (and elsewhere on social media) if you’d like to follow along.
I created this comic last month for the summer issue of The Grind. Check it out on the back page.
I’ve been serializing a new version of my old comic Distance Mover for Gytha Cooperative’s Winter’s End magazine. Issue #5 just dropped which features the second chapter of Distance Mover. You can subscribe to read the issue’s online or buy print editions here.

In other news: Zine Dream is coming up on August 16th. I’ll hopefully be debuting a publication or two - but time might say otherwise! See you then.

March 4 2025:

Long overdue for my first correspondence of the year - but here's what's up:
My 2014 graphic novel DISTANCE MOVER officially continues in issue 4 of WINTER'S END magazine published by Gytha Cooperative. Subscribe to the online and print editions on their Pateron.

Stoked to be working on this alongside so many other talented comics creators. Thanks a ton to Gytha for letting me tag along.
More chapters to come.

ALSO: I forgot to post these covers I created for Gytha last year for WINTER’S END and their sister YA publication PERHAPS.

By the way:
Just wrapped teaching my third cohort for the Online Master in Editorial & Advertising Illustration for LABASAD (Barcelona School of Arts and Design) The fourth section starts later this year. If you’re an aspiring creative and reading this: It’s fun and you’ll get me looking at and interacting with your work for two non-consequtive months. Check it out. Thanks to the master Bárbara Malagoli for brining me on - and to Matthew James-Wilson of Heavy Manners Library, who photographed the headshot 10 years ago! I’ve changed a bit since then.

Bye for now!

December 18 2024:

This is belated because I have just returned back in Toronto, but I was at Comic Arts Los Angeles this past weekend and had an excellent time.

Despite being incredibly car centric, LA still manages to be a magical place (Blue skies and golden sunshine all along the way.) I, a non-driver, was very lucky to have a guide in Matthew James-Wilson of Heavy Manners Library, who I admire endlessly for his dedication, work-ethic and insight. The prints I mailed down to the show did not arrive until today - but fortunately, they should be available through Heavy Manners before long. Thanks to everyone I chatted with and exhanged books with at the festival. Hope to see you all again soon.

Elsewhere, here is one of two Illustrations I did earlier this year for the fall issue of Maisonneuve Magazine. This one accompanied a new fiction piece by Sophie McCreesh titled "The Wiseman Girl" about perpetually sighting a long estranged childhood friend.

Doing mostly digitally coloured illustration for editorial work since around 2014, it was great to work with my old analogue process for this one. Happy to be back. Thanks for AD Rachel Wine for their trust.
